Biography

Leadership development and program design

Dr Cristina Stasia is a consulting Senior Leadership Faculty and Coach at KS Insight, leveraging over twenty years of expertise in leadership development programs, inclusive education, and organizational strategy. She is the former Director of Leadership Training and Program Development at the University of Alberta and served as a Lougheed Adjunct Professor at the Peter Lougheed Leadership College.

In these roles, Cristina helped launch the college alongside former Canadian Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Kim Campbell, creating a space for fostering adaptive, inclusive, and impactful leadership. Her work focuses on building programs that prepare leaders to navigate systems with clarity, equity, and creativity.

Equity-centered leadership and systems change

Dr Stasia is widely recognized for her ability to address how traditional constructions of leadership can limit effectiveness. Her academic research and practical work emphasize integrating intersectional approaches, drawing from movements such as Black Power and feminism to challenge conventional leadership paradigms and foster meaningful systemic change.

She has partnered with ministries, businesses, and educational institutions to design leadership strategies that emphasize equity, innovation, and adaptability.

Global teaching and recognition

Cristina has contributed to leadership development and training programs worldwide, including creating initiatives for Hong Kong-based companies, nursing faculty in Ghana, and mid-career executives in Canada’s engineering sector. Her teaching excellence has earned national recognition, including being named a top instructor by University of Alberta students and being recognized as one of Edmonton’s “Top 40 Under 40.”

Background and training

In addition to her professional achievements, Dr Stasia is completing an executive certificate in Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School, underscoring her commitment to adaptive leadership practices and preparing leaders to navigate complexity with equity and insight.
